Connect ChatGPT
Connect ChatGPT to Vocci with browser sign-in.
Setup
-
Open ChatGPT settings.
-
Go to Apps.
-
Open Advanced settings.
-
Turn on Developer mode if it is not already enabled.
-
On the same page, click Create app.
-
Name the app. We recommend
Vocci, but you can choose a name that is clear to you. -
Add the MCP connection URL:
https://mcp.vocci.ai/mcpBefore you continue, confirm the URL field shows the
/mcpendpoint exactly. -
Choose OAuth when ChatGPT asks how to sign in.
-
Scan tools if ChatGPT asks you to scan the MCP server before creating the app.
-
Before creating the app, open Advanced OAuth settings.
-
Deselect OpenID and OIDC Enabled.
-
Create the app.
-
When ChatGPT opens the authorization flow, sign in to Vocci and approve the connection.
-
Return to ChatGPT and confirm that Vocci appears as connected.
ChatGPT should not ask you to paste credentials manually. If OAuth does not complete, disconnect Vocci and retry the setup flow from Create app.
Verify Installation
Your setup should now be complete when:
- Vocci appears as connected in ChatGPT.
- ChatGPT can see Vocci search and fetch tools after scanning.
- A narrow, non-sensitive Vocci search returns results with titles, snippets, and source IDs.
Try:
Search Vocci for recent notes about onboarding.
If a result looks relevant, ChatGPT can open it in more detail and include the returned source ID.
Notes
An official Vocci ChatGPT app connector is coming soon. When it is available, you will be able to install the official Vocci app directly instead of creating a custom ChatGPT app each time.
ChatGPT UI names can change. If a label looks different, the important pieces are Developer mode, Create app, the MCP connection URL, OAuth sign-in, tool scanning, Advanced OAuth settings, deselecting OpenID and OIDC Enabled, and the Vocci sign-in flow.
